Lone Star Delivers for Austin / Travis County Emergency Services
January 23, 2009
The next time you look in your rear view mirror and see a motorcycle with
flashing lights, it may not be the Austin Police about to ask for your
autograph. It may be an Austin / Travis County Emergency Services First
Responder on the way to save someone's life.
Lone Star BMW is proud to be a part of an innovative new program that will
enable Austin / Travis County EMS personnel to respond even more quickly to
emergency situations. We recently delivered two new BMW G650GS motorcycles to
the Austin / Travis County Emergency Services Department. The motorcycles were
purchased by the Greater Austin Crime Commission for Austin / Travis Country
EMS. The idea is that in a serious emergency situation when traffic is at a
standstill and every minute counts, an EMS First Responder on a motorcycle may
be able to get to an accident or medical emergency victim more quickly than an
ambulance or even a helicopter. The sooner a victim receives expert medical
treatment the greater the liklihood of survival and recovery. You or a loved
one may one day be a beneficiary of the new Austin / Travis County EMS BMW
motorcycles.
