The little great-grandmotherly lady at the lower right of the above photo took the group of riders pictured here out for a little ride a couple of weeks ago. They rode their motorcycles from Austin to Ft. Stockton, Texas, then on to Carlsbad, New Mexico, on to Roswell, NM, and then BACK to Austin. 1049 miles. In one day. A long, hot day. But what do you do when a great-grandmother is behind you pushing you to keep going? Fifteen minute stops every 150 miles or so for gas, food and potty breaks. They may be official Iron Butt members now, but they are also members of the Sore Butt club after this ride. Of course for Ardys Kellerman, (aka Queenie), it was just a little tuneup ride for the upcoming Iron Butt competition in August. That's 11 days of 1000+ miles per day.
