Monthly Bike Night

Austin RATs meet the first Monday of the month at 6:30PM.

We meet at Opal Divine's "The Marina"

Opal Divine's

Since we ride British iron, we meet where proper fish and chips are served. Come out and get to know other Austin area Triumph riders.

Four new Daytona 675 SE owners take delivery on the same day! We want to hear from you four about your impression on this fantastic bike.

Our 2008 Schedule

April 13th CMRA Sprint Races at Bryan - Texas World Speedway.

It was almost 50 degrees and sunny making for great riding. We left Pflugerville taking county roads to Elgin for breakfast where we met more riders. I enjoy those roads with low traffic, several 90 degree bends, and scenic agricultural landscape.

The Start

We took FM roads to Caldwell, and the popular 166 into Bryan. At TWS we parked next to a group from Houston. They were BMOA and are hosting the May rally we will be attending. We had a nice visit with McKenzie of Rever Corsa who gave a great narrative on racing the Daytona. This is #222, a Daytona 675 looking good railing this difficult turn.

Pit

I always enjoy riding to Bryan, and of course being at the race track is a charge. Racers are a friendly group and enjoy sharing stories and details about their passion. We'll try and get a ride scheduled for another race this year.

May 17th is the 24th Annual New Ulm Rallye.

We will meet for breakfast at the 290 Cafe in Manor. This is a great starting point for our ride east to New Ulm. The route will be county and FM roads which will be posted on the forum. The quality of bikes shown is inspiring and provide an excellent view of our roots. The owners enjoy talking about the work and you'll find each restoration job has a unique story. After a couple of hours hanging out and visiting, we'll head back to Austin using a different route.

The Austin Roadrunner's Ralley is June 1st.
http://www.austinroadrunners.com/
This is one of ARAT's defining rides. While Decker Lake is filled with sleeping ROT attendees, we'll quietly slip out of Georgetown for a ride to the lakes and back into Ski Shores. If you appreciate classic and antique motorcycles, this is an event for you. This show is well attended, and many of the contributors are from the Austin area. Be sure to turn out to enjoy the hard work of these rebuilders.

October 25th Harvest Classic is the Harvest Classic in Luckenbach.
http://www.harvestclassic.org/
This is also a classic and antique motorcycle show held in a unique location. Luckenbach is always an enjoyable destination with several options for scenic routes with a country atmosphere at the end.

Triumph will not be holding RAIDs this year leaving us no choice but to host our own RAID. Austin RATs are starting to put a plan together to make sure Texas has a RAID in 2008, and we now have the flexibility to change a few of the things we'd like to have done differently in 2007.

Check here to have a look at our 2007 Texas Hill Country RAID.
