Follow Tim Masterson as he rides his 2008 BMW R1200GS from Florida to Alaska
The goal of this ride is to be recognized by the Iron Butt Association for successfully completing the Ultimate Coast to Coast Challenge. The rules for the event allows 30 days to complete the ride. On Monday, 6/28, I’m departing for Key West, FL to start my ride to Deadhorse, AK.
I’ve prepared a SPOT Adventure page that contains an outline of the trip, embedded links to the SPOT Tim and Live Feeds of my GPS geotags that I will be sending, starting Monday morning, at every major-key route point, routine gas and rest stops. I’ll use the page titled: Key West FL to Deadhorse AK – Plan and Blog to post pictures, videos and updates of the route on a daily basis. I’ll blog about the ride that day, plug in the geotags, and update the route for the next day among other things. Check out the links in the Adventure Story panel and try different map types. Also, at the bottom of the map are the controls for the picture slide show and the blue route tracer. Mouse over the bottom of the map and Click on the graph icon on the far right. The route line is the planned course and destination for Monday’s riding. Subsequent day’s routes and destinations will be posted.

The SPOT Tim is a “get it now” link. By that I mean if you bookmark the SPOT Tim page after it has fetched the latest batch of geotags and close your browser it will lose the update link. So the best thing to do is to click on the SPOT Tim orange link in the top paragraph of the SPOT Adventure page below.
