Texas Adventure Ride - 2009
Junction, Texas - April 2 - 5, 2009

Last year's Texas
Adventure Ride was so much fun, Lone Star co-owner Robert Krull and his
wife Carla Cay decided to do it again. They headed off to Junction, Texas on
Thursday afternoon to join up with lots of other dual sport motorcycle
enthusiasts for a weekend of springtime riding in the beautiful Texas Hill
Country. Junction is about 115 miles west of Austin and is surrounded by
the rolling hills and clear blue skies of the hill country. Robert thinks he
is so cool, using his fancy iPhone to send us photos during the Texas Adventure
Ride. We know he is sending the photos just to make us jealous since we are
all working back in Austin while he is out riding his motorcycle in the Hill
Country. He succeeded. We are jealous. Carla Cay is pictured here taking a
break on her red BMW F650GS. Click for photos from
last year's 2008 Texas Adventure Ride.

Robert and Carla Cay's riding group is shown here taking a break to stretch
their legs and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Hill Country. The Texas
Adventure Ride takes place each April when the bluebonnets are blooming and
the spring rains and warm sunshine begin to turn the countryside green. This
year Central Texas is suffering from an extreme drought, but some recent rains
have helped a little. That looks like Robert Stallones in the center of the
photo, taking a snapshot. Robert S. lives in Houston, but he buys all of his
BMW motorcycles at Lone Star in Austin. He's a good guy.

It was plenty warm on Saturday and a stop under a shade tree seemed like a
good idea. That is Robert Krull's BMW F650GS Dakar on the right, and it looks
like Robert Stallone's BMW G650 XChallenge on the left.

One of the highlights of the Texas Adventure Ride is the riders banquet on
Saturday night. Good food and drinks and lots of lots of motorcycle talk.
Some of the tales told at the banquet might actually have some microscopic
basis in the truth. Connie and Carla Cay are pictured here at the check-in
table.
